Our Story

FUJAIRAH INTERNATIONAL MARINE CLUB

was established in 1999 under Emiri Decree No. 1 of 1999 to publish and encourage the water sports among the locals and residents of the Emirate of Fujairah and United Arab Emirates also to prepare a sports capable generation and to work on identifying water sports talents which can compete in national and international events, Fujairah International Marine Sports Club provide the facilities to ensure the development of the water sports.

The emirate of Fujairah hosted the UIM Class1 World Powerboat Championship in 1988 which was such a success, that it propelled the establishment of the Fujairah International Marine Club. The Formula 2000 Championship is a very prestigious event Fujairah International Marine Club organizes every year. After the first Formula Race in 2003 held in Dibba, the wonderful experience and success of the event inspired the FIMC to add it to their events calendar every year. The Formula 2 is an extremely popular regional event with an international flavor. Each year it attracts a strong field of UAE national drivers as well as those from other GCC, European and Asian countries. Fujairah Formula Race has always been and will always be an exciting and beloved event attracting countless people to witness and become a part of it.

Not only does the FIMC play host to high-powered events, but it also organizes many wonderfully traditional and graceful events. Dhow sailing races are often held in the FIMC in cooperation with the UAE Marine Sports Federation and Dubai International Marine Club. The legendary Arabic sport of dhow sailing races is most definitely a spectacular and graceful sport, illuminating the coastline in a blaze of white sails. Like many other events held at the FIMC, Traditional dhow sailing attracts thousands of visitors to the shores of Fujairah. There are still countless other events held at the FIMC including the FINA World Swimming Championship, Fishing competitions and tournaments, Regattas and numerous offshore sailing races. If there is something you enjoy doing, whether it is on the water or in it, ​

chances are you can do it at the Fujairah International Marine Club. If you’re looking for some food or drinks, the FIMC is well prepared with a Chinese restaurant on the top floor, a bar and restaurant on the bottom floor and coffee shop and shisha café outdoors on a jetty. All with a mesmerizing view of the beautiful Indian Ocean. Founded in 1999 under the patronage of H. H. Sheikh Hamad Bin Mohammed Al Sharqi the Ruler of the emirate Fujairah and a member of the Supreme Council, The Fujairah International Marine Club has been a haven for local residents and tourists alike for years. Situated on the Indian Ocean, the architecturally modern building looks out onto an endless shimmering blanket of waves.

The Fujairah International Marine Club (FIMC) offers an extensive range of aquatic activities for the whole family to enjoy. From the faster paced jet skiing and speed boats to the more relaxed fishing trips, there is something for everyone. There is a small beach for relaxing in the sun and swimming. Or if you want to see the aquatic wildlife, there is a diving club well equipped to take you and your family out into the ocean. If you’re looking for somewhere to dock your boat, the FIMC has extensive berthing facilities. With room enough for 120 boats (40 large and 80 smaller) and electricity and water available, there is no reason to go anywhere else. There is both wet and dry berthing available as well as a workshop for any technical and mechanical assistance that you may require.

Chairman's Message

"The Club has been instrumental in putting Fujairah on the world map through its active Participation in national and international water sporting events. All the achievements of the club and its milestones through these years would not have been possible without the strong support and visionary guidance of H.H. Sheikh Hamad bin Mohammed Al Sharqi, Supreme Council Member and the Ruler of Fujairah. With every passing year Fujairah International Marine Club’s aim has been to build community within our city and the UAE, to enhance the visibility of the Club on the world stage with a focus on water sporting activities and in the process, we strive to put Fujairah as a tourism destination on a global platform. We would like to extend our thanks and appreciation to the community of Fujairah for their contributions. We are also grateful for the support from government departments and institutions in Fujairah in making club a success. We thank the press and media, which they have always been keen to highlight our all activities and events."

CEO Message

It is a great pleasure to celebrate the silver jubilee of Fujairah International Marine Club and reflect on the achievements of the last 25 years. The success of FIMC has been led by His Highness Sheikh Hamad bin Mohammed Al Sharqi, Member of the Supreme Council of UAE Rulers of Fujairah, and continued support has been given by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed Hamad bin Mohammed Al Sharqi, Crown Prince of Fujairah.

Through H.H. Saif’s leadership, FIMC has continued to grow and become a prominent marina in the UAE and globally. A special thanks to Mr. Mohammed Saeed Al Dhahani, Director of the Emiri Court and vice president of FIMC, for his continued support.

In its first year, 1999, FIMC successfully hosted the Class 1 World Powerboat Championship; as such, it became the main station for holding major rounds annually. Due to this success, Fujairah was chosen to host other major tournaments, including Formula boats, Jet Ski racing, rowing, etc. It was further recognized by international organizations as it was chosen to host the centenary ceremony of UIM in 2022. This event was the destination of the world and an affirmation of the club’s global status.

The Fujairah International Marine Sports Club has played a major role in developing tourism. The activities and tournaments attract many tourists of different nationalities, especially in the major tournaments that are organized. We find that tourists always praise Fujairah and its distinguished location on the coast.

While we are experiencing this joy, we would like to show our appreciation to the partners of the Fujairah International Marine Club, from government departments, national institutions, and government agencies to the General Sports Authority, the National Olympic Committee, the National Federation, and clubs, without exception, for all the support and assistance they provided that made success possible for the United Arab Emirates.

Fujairah International Marine Club Goals

Publish and encourage the water sports among the locals and residents of the Emirate of Fujairah and United Arab Emirates.
Preparing a sports capable generation.
Work on identifying water sports talents which can compete in national and international events.
Develop the water sports and its local and residents practitioners in Fujairah and United Arab Emirates, and provide the facilities to ensure such development.
Participating in national and international water sports events, and hosting national and international events, after approval of UAE Marine Sports Federation (UAEMSF), and the other official authorities concerned with the events. ​
Sponsor the other hobbies of the members and make sure it is developed by providing the facilities needed. ​
Establish and strengthen the social relationships between the members through trips, parties and various social contests.
