Crown Prince of Fujairah and UIM President boost UIM Youth Development Programme

H.H. Sheikh Mohammed Bin Hamad Al Sharqi, Crown Prince of Fujairah acknowledged the UIM President Raffaele Chiulli for his achievements in the areas of youth development and sustainability and announced a donation of $ 100’000 to the UIM Youth Development Programme on occasion of the 2022 UIM XCAT World Championship, held in Fujairah, U.A.E.
“I am very grateful for His Highness’ generosity and for his continued commitment to supporting the UIM in our efforts to attract the Youth to practicing the powerboating sport,” said UIM President Raffaele Chiulli.
During an audience with the Crown Prince at the Palace, the UIM President had expressed the International Powerboat Federation’s recognition for the pioneering role the Fujairah International Marine Club (FIMC) had been playing from the very beginning of the introduction of the UIM Youth Development Programme, by opening the first UIM Academy. “I would like to congratulate His Highness on the success of the FIMC-UIM Youth Academy, a state-of-theart training centre for future powerboaters, which serves as an example for all UIM Member Federations,” the UIM President said.
Raffaele Chiulli underlined the importance for the powerboating community, to offer the new generations a safe and appealing access to the different disciplines, while focusing on the sustainable development of the motorized water sports. The Crown Prince welcomed the proposal of the UIM President to stage an International Workshop in Fujairah, dedicated to crucial matters of ‘Sustainability’. “At the UIM we are committed to build a more sustainable future, and this International Workshop will give all participants the opportunity to contribute to this common goal,” Raffaele Chiulli said.H.H.
